Propose a Talk!

This 3rd annual Eclipse Summit Europe will consist of two days of technical and business track sessions, selected keynotes, demos and social gatherings, preceded by a symposia day. The summit is a stimulating and dynamic event for Eclipse users, contributors, adopters, add-in providers and service providers to learn, share expertise and discover new opportunities and solutions in the Eclipse ecosystem.

We are calling for participation in several events at the Eclipse Summit.

Submit a Talk

The Eclipse Foundation is looking for members to speak at Eclipse Summit Europe. Prepared presentations should last approximately 50 minutes for long talks and 25 minutes for short talks, including 5 minutes of questions from the audience at the end. Submitted talks should focus on one of four categories:

• Consumer Stories - A Consumer Story talk should explore an individual or company’s experience using Eclipse-based technologies. This could include how a company uses multiple Eclipse projects on a large scale, how Eclipse changed the organization of a company, or how Eclipse changed the way a company does its business. Areas to cover may include why you chose Eclipse, obstacles you encountered, solutions you found, what you have contributed back to the Eclipse community, and what you see for the future.
• Demos - Demos should be technical presentations showing code examples. They should give a more in-depth and focused look at a project.
• Ganymede - The goal of the Ganymede sessions is to share new features and improvements coming out of the projects' Ganymede release with the Eclipse community. For larger projects, it may be more effective to focus on an exciting sub-project rather than trying to cover a topic that is too broad. Ganymede talks will be used to give attendees insight into the status of various projects and the projects' roadmap for the next simultaneous release in 2009.
• New & Noteworthy - For New & Noteworthy talks, we are generally looking for speakers from Eclipse projects that have been newly created or had a release with new and noteworthy functionality. We would like to hear about what innovations have already come out of your work and what you plan to achieve for your next release.

Submission Process

Submissions are open from May 12^th, 2008 through September 1^st, 2008. Submissions will be reviewed by the Program Committee as they are submitted and all submission will receive a response from the Program Committee by September 16^th, 2008.

You may submit as many proposals as you want: you are the expert and we want to hear from you!

If the program committee should require further information, you'll be notified by email and will return to the ESE submission system to update your submission(s).
